In January 2021, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sky News broadcast a powerful segment from Skegness Academy. The report followed Year 9 student Jaydon, who was completing his schoolwork on a mobile phone from the B&B where he was living. Speaking candidly to the reporter, Jaydon shared his hopes of one day becoming a medical professional or a teacher.

You can watch the broadcast again below (6:09 minutes in).

Fast-forward to today, and Jaydon’s story has reached an exciting new chapter. You might have seen our coverage yesterday celebrating individual success stories across our academies - and perhaps you noticed Jaydon was among them. After completing his Sixth Form studies at Skegness Academy, he is now studying for a degree in Paramedic Science at Coventry University!

Jaydon’s journey, from overcoming significant challenges during remote learning to stepping confidently into a medical career path, is a powerful example of resilience and ambition. We wish him every success and happiness.
