The Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) is a 'not for profit' organisation and was formed in 2009. We currently have 37 open academies educating approximately 18,000 pupils across seven local authority areas including Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire, Leicester City, Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Lincolnshire.
Our Members are the equivalent of shareholders (although of course they do not make any money out of our work). They play an important role in overseeing the work of our Trustees and our financial security.
Our Trustees are accountable for all aspects of our work, including the performance of every one of our academies.

I started my journey in the education sector with Greenwood Academies Trust in 2012 just as the trust and the academy sector was gaining momentum. I feel fortunate to have joined at this pivotal time as it has enabled me to grow with the organisation and shape the finance function from inception.
Prior to joining Greenwood Academies Trust, I enjoyed 5 years' experience in a professional accountancy practice then 13 years in the financial services sector, with this commercial experience providing an invaluable contribution to my role in the evolving multi-academy trust sector.
I firmly believe that each part of the trust has a significant role to play in supporting the educational objectives for the young people within our organisation.
