About the Role
We wish to recruit someone who shares our vision that through learning, pupils’ curiosity and imagination will be fired up, allowing them to become questioning individuals who are confidently able to take part in a democratic society. As the Head of English you will be expected to ensure, through effective Teaching and Learning, that all pupils are inspired to achieve outstanding progress.
In recruiting for the Head of English role we are seeking the following from applicants:
- A degree in English or an English-related subject
- A growth mind-set
- High standards of professionalism
- A courteous manner
- Record of high quality teaching
- The potential to be an exceptional leader
The successful candidate will join an inspirational and passionate team of English teachers.
Weston Favell Academy is an improving school and this summer’s GCSE results were the best in our history. In addition our English results have risen significantly and are in line with the national average. This is the second consecutive year of significant improvement and we are confident this upward trend will continue.
