About the role and you
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Early Years/KS 1 Class Teacher who is committed to providing a welcoming, stimulating learning experience for all students; what we are really looking for is someone who is passionate about working with students with special educational needs and someone who is willing to contribute to the broader academy life.
To be successful you will be a creative, enthusiastic individual dedicated to ensuring that students needs are met, providing them with a positive learning journey and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will need to have experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible to all students while ensuring they are appropriately challenging.
Our purpose built new building opened in January 2018 and will provide 100 places for students (3-18) with a diagnosis of autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties. The academy currently has 51 students and will grow each year until it reaches full capacity.
You will join a team of committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring students are prepared for the years beyond education and are supported to pursue their dreams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wishes to work in a unique environment. The role will expose you to challenging situations involving pupils with significant special educational needs; therefore experience of working with children with autism would be advantageous. The Trust also value continuing professional development and will ensure that you are given access to a variety of learning opportunities including training courses via the Learning Alliance and opportunities for sharing best practice. As this role is only required to work in term time only, it also offers the opportunity for a great work-life balance.
Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged, please contact Dee Loryman on 01604 434471 (ext. 7411) or email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a visit.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks, therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
TO APPLY please email a completed application form to email@example.com stating the job reference in your email.
