Red Nose Day 2017

24 Mar 2017
The Trust takes part in Red Nose Day 2017.

Red Nose Day or Comic relief is a fundraising event in the UK that aims to benefit projects across the globe. From fighting malaria in Africa to supporting domestic abuse victims here in the UK, Red Nose Day is all about helping those in need.

It can be so easy to take part and donate money to Red Nose Day, by simply buying a £1 Red Nose to wearing a Red Nose Day T-Shirt. Many of our Academies from across the regions have been getting involved and raising money for Red Nose Day.

Here is what's been going on throughout the Trust;

Nottingham Academy - Nottingham

Nottingham Academy Secondary students have been taking part in week long fundraising activities to raise money for Red Nose Day. Year 8 started off the week by hosting a Bake Off, they prepared lots of cakes and treats that sold out in 10 minutes. The teaching staff also had a 'guess the name of a teddy' competition to win a teddy. Well done everyone.

The GAT Central and Executive Team - Nottingham

The GAT central team have spent the day dressed in red outfits and have been taking part in a staff sweepstake. The team guessed which song was Nick Grimshaw's favourite from the Red Nose Day sweepstake and raised a total of £60.

Danesholme Junior Academy - Corby

Danesholme Junior Year 6 school council representatives led a Red Nose Day Assembly to show their fellow classmates how the money raised will benefit people around the world. Students also donated £1 to dress in red clothing and to wear a red nose.

Beacon Primary Academy - Skegness

Beacon Primary Academy held a competition for students to design their very own red nose. To enter pupils donated 50p ago and they had Easter eggs up for grabs for the winners and runners up, brilliant designs everyone.

The Trust Board - Nottingham

The members of our Trust board also joined in supporting Red Nose Day by dressing in red and wearing red noses during a meeting. Great to see everyone involved.

The Trust would like to say a big thank you to all students and staff who took part in fundraising and donating.
