The Stanground Academy opened its doors to pupils earlier this month, on their return after the Easter break.  

Sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, this new 11-19 Academy opened in the existing buildings of the predecessor school, Stanground College and will make a significant contribution to the success of Peterborough City Council's education strategy for enhancing the learning experiences for pupils and the wider community in the area.

A major capital building programme costing £24m has been secured to provide 'state of the art' buildings and facilities for pupils and staff. Building work on site has now started and these new buildings will be completed by September 2013. High quality academic, vocational and sports facilities will be provided.
