We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Learning Assistant, to work at the City of Peterborough Academy.

The ideal Learning Assistant will reinforce the excellent work of the teaching staff by supporting individuals or small groups both within and outside of the classroom environment. You will be a professional role model to the pupils, with the confidence to challenge and the creativity to motivate.

To be successful you must have:

  • excellent communication skills

Our academy was opened in September 2013 by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength with the most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2015 judging the academy as “Outstanding”, noting pupil behaviour as “exemplary”. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential.

In return, the academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, look to support staff in their careers and offer first class CPD and opportunities for career progression.

This role is for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday and is required in term time only; therefore this is reflected in the pro rata salary.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks, therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
